About Mains Parish Church

The  Church building has been at the heart of Kirkton for over 200 years. The Church Fellowship today is a congregation aiming to be faithful to Christ in mission to the districts of Trottick, Kirton, Claverhouse and Mill o'Mains, the city and the whole world.

Whether you are visiting Dundee, are on holiday, or have come to live in the district, we would like to invite you to join us in worship. We also particularly welcome anyone who would not necessary count themselves Christian but who may be seeking to find our more about the Christian Gospel. We would love for you to come and join us!

Who Are We?

Rev John M Pickering comes to us after a ministry of 7 years in a rural charge. After a career of over 20 years teaching science he heard God's call to the ministry. He studied at New College, Edinburgh and was ordained in 1997. He is married to Margaret and they have a son Thomas who is married to Claire and a daughter Gillian, studying at Aberdeen University.

We are a small group of ordinary people, made up of young and older adults, their families, children and young people who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, God's only Son and belong to his Church which is spread out in different places all over the world. We love to meet together as one joyful family, to call together on our Father in heaven.

As Mains Parish Church we meet in the church building on Claverhouse Road (by the roundabout with Old Glamis Road). When we come together to worship God we find him speaking to us in the Bible- a book in which we find his help for our lives as individuals and as a group of his people.

We take the Bible seriously. When its message is proclaimed clearly, the voice if the living God is heard clearly today, with transforming power. That's why our priority is to open the Bible and let it speak, wherever and whenever we can.
